Policies and Procedures

SOME CLASS PROTOCOLS:

  • Following recommendations by the Region of Waterloo Public Health, we are upgrading our current air filtration to a 4-stage HEPA air filter (at the locations listed below) and continuing good air flow throughout. We also encourage you to talk to your doctor about vaccines and what is appropriate for your family and community.
  • We will also continue to allow UNLIMITED makeups in our classes. We will continuously add standalone makeup classes to give as many opportunities for healthy classrooms as we can. Before leaving home, please do a quick self-assessment and stay home if you or your child are showing any symptoms of sickness. If you need any assistance in booking a makeup, please reach out to Sarah who will assist you.
  • A word about illness...Please ask yourself when deciding whether or not to stay home, if you would want your child exposed to the symptoms you or your child are exhibiting. If not, please stay home and schedule a makeup.

  • Hand sanitizer is provided for families at each location. Please use it before and after class.

  • Be sure to place any mouthed instruments/props into the buckets for disinfecting after use. When in doubt, put it in the bin!

  • The following locations will continue to have air filtration systems in place:
Christ Lutheran- Standalone multi-stage HEPA Air Filter
Trillium Church- Standalone multi-stage HEPA Air Filter
New Hamburg- Standalone multi-stage HEPA Air Filter
All Saints Church- Built-in System- new and top of the line Air Filtration

Make-ups cannot be carried over to future semesters. A word about illness...Please ask yourself when deciding whether or not to stay home, if you would want your child exposed to the symptoms you or your child are exhibiting. If not, please err on the side of caution and book a make-up class.

  • Class Cancellations: Any class may be cancelled at the start of a semester if there is insufficient enrollment to provide a meaningful Music Together® class experience. We will do our best to transfer you to another open class. If we're unable to find a suitable class, a credit or refund will be given. Please register EARLY!

  • Visiting Guests: An adult family member is welcome to join you in class. All guests are encouraged to fully participate as active members of the class
  • Visiting Siblings/Children: Big kids home for the day (PD Day) may attend one class "on us" but PLEASE email [email protected] or connect with your teacher to ensure there is space available. If your big kid is home sick, please DO NOT bring them to class as we have many expectant mothers and new infants in class. Let's do our best to keep everyone healthy. We request a donation for subsequent visits to our Sibling/Visiting Guest Program which allows us to support families in need around the Region. All guests are encouraged to fully participate as active members of the class.

  • Media Release: From time to time photos or videos may be taken during class/events and used only for the purposes of promoting our classes on our website, print materials, and/or social media pages. Every attempt will be made to notify/confirm permission before making such items public. By agreeing to these terms you agree to have your and/or your child's photo taken and used for such purposes. You may opt out of this at any time by notifying [email protected].

  • Liability Release: Parents and legal guardians of minor students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained at Music Together of Kitchener-Waterloo venues resulting from normal class activity or any other activity conducted by families before, during, or after class time.

  • Participation: We urge you or your child's caregiver to participate enthusiastically in class. Adult participation is essential to the Music Together model. The children are free to develop naturally and in their own time and style. Keep in mind that YOU are in class as a model for your child and all of the other children in the circle, even if you don't feel particularly confident in your own musical abilities. If your child sees you making music and having a good time, they are more likely to develop that disposition. Relax, let your child participate naturally and have some musical fun!

  • Requirement for Classes: At checkout, families will be required to agree to our Policies and Procedures in order to attend. You are responsible for ensuring that any adult who brings your child to class has read and understood the policies and procedures prior to attending class.

  • Privacy Policy: By enrolling in a Music Together class at Music Together of Kitchener-Waterloo, a licensed Music Together centre, you agree that any information you provide will be shared with Music Together Worldwide (MTW).
